Nigel first studied piano with Kate Elmitt before going on to study Composition and Piano at The Royal Academy of Music with Paul Patterson and Alexander Kelly. Since then he has divided his time between performing, teaching and composing in a range of styles including classical and jazz works.


In 2007 he moved to Sussex and now devotes his time fully to composition. Nigel has completed an eclectic range of works, excerpts of which can be heard here. He has also collaborated on a number of projects with film and TV composer, Ruth Barrett.


Following a very successful concert of his music in 2010, the CD "Under The Influence" was recorded. Two works for choir and orchestra commissioned by KPM-EMI were recorded at Air Studios in 2014 and  "Three Dances After Midnight" was published early in 2014 by Broadbent & Dunn ( and broadcast on Radio 3 in May 2018.


Nigel has just completed a substantial work for soprano and orchestra entitled "While Starlight Sleeps" dedicated to Dr Peter Scott for his immense work in the field of cystic fibrosis. Also completed are three songs for unaccompanied voices and a new work for violin and piano.

Further collaborations include two works with singer/songwriter Nick Eede ( Cutting Crew ) for voice and orchestra.
